This is one of my recent portraits of an actress and comedian, done in charcoal and white chalk. The pose had a lovely soft light and a beautiful atmosphere which made the drawing really fun to work on. I was really captivated by the far away look of the sideways glance and the mystery that the softly shaded eyes gave to the image.
I particularly enjoyed working on the clothing and the necklace, which allowed for a looser treatment than I usually employ.
